To the East Academy Students, Families and Community:
It is with great pleasure that I write to introduce myself to you as your new principal. Yesterday, I spent the day with Mr. Cowan learning about East and all of the work that you all have done. I am looking forward to getting to know each of you as we work together to sustain some of East Academy’s traditions, and also to create new ones!
Prior to being appointed as Principal of East Academy, I served as a K-8 and a 9-12 principal, most recently at Ohio College Preparatory School in Maple Heights, Ohio. I have also served in the role of 5th Grade Teacher, Middle School ELA Teacher, Dean of Students, Dean of Curriculum and Instruction and Assistant Principal during my educational career. I am a Native of Cleveland, Ohio and a graduate of Richmond Heights High School. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations with a minor in African American Studies from The University of Toledo. I then moved on to acquire an M.Ed. in School Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. I bring to East Academy a strong sense of parent and community engagement along with an intense desire for academic growth.
Please always feel free to stop by my office or send an email throughout the summer, as I am eager to meet and get to know each one of you. Please know that I am working on planning a number of events for East that includes a meet and greet, to be held prior to our Open House next month. The exact dates and times of the events are forthcoming.
My personal belief is that everyone can grow and that people make the school great. Through honoring traditions, listening to stakeholder feedback, and observing/reflecting upon the existing teaching and learning practices, I know that together we will ensure that growth and greatness are very attainable goals. I look forward to working towards our goals for East Academy together.
Yours in education,
Ashley Hall, M.Ed., S.A.
